With the winds slowing down a bit we have been able to get back offshore, and boy is it good!! Gags are now closed but red grouper is open and they have been extremely plentiful so far!! The reds are being found in about 100-140′ of water currently. Mangrove snapper have been extremely abundants as well. African pompano are also being reported a bit further out as well as some larger cobia! Pushing inshore, there have been MONSTER (50lb+) amberjacks on the “M” reefs as well. Bait has been pretty plentiful inshore and the pinfish have been decent! Still a few small patches of red tide but this colder water shoud help to keep it away. Inshore action is hot with great trout, redfish, sheepshead and pompano bites!! Live shrimp for the sheepshead is best and the trout reds and pompano are chewing artificials like crazy!! North Sarasota bay has been hot. Some smaller snook are being reported and if you are lucky you may find a juvenile tarpon in the canals at night. As always, stop in and see us for any questions or recommendations! Tight Lines!!
