MYAKKA RIVER STATE PARK
Myakka River State Park has plenty of places to sneak your kayak into the water and go exploring. We’re highlighting just a few of them and this is the third of four sites.
After entering the park from State Road 72, pass through the ranger station, and cross the bridge. There is a short road to the left that ends at a tributary from the river. There are several nice launch areas that are shaded and very close to your car.
There is good access to the river from here without any long distance efforts. Picnic tables and benches make a pleasant, shady spot to relax, have a bite after your paddle, or just enjoy the view.
Directions:
From Exit 205 and I-75 go east on Rt. 72 for about 8.5 miles. Myakka River State Park entrance is on the left. There is a fee to enter the park.
