Offshore fishing remains strong with several wahoo, mutton snapper and yellowtail snapper being reported this past week. Mangrove snapper bite has been fantastic as well on the nearshore wrecks as well as Sarasota Bay. Permit reports have slowed down a bit but should heat back up over the next month or so. There have been very few migratory tarpon reported these past few weeks but penty of juveniles in the intercoastal waterway and creek mouths! Plenty of snook around those creek mouths as well and less out on the beaches so be sure to watch watch your tides. The whitebait has been extremely plentiful in the bay and the trout and redfish are loving it. Plenty of keeper trout in the north bay at the moment and the redfish bite is improving by the day. in preparation for Hurricane Idalia, we will be closing early by 2pm Tuesday 8/29 and closed Wednesday 8/30. We hope everyone stays safe so we can all get back to fishing! Tight lines!!
