Summertime fishing is certainly in full swing! Offshore reports are staying consistent with a fair amount of red snapper reported, solid scamp, mangrove snapper, yellowtail snapper and blackfin tuna. With many gearing up for gag season, we have plenty of pinfish traps in stock. Dont wait until the last minute though as they may become difficult to get once season starts. Nearshore wreck activity remains strong with reports of permit for the last few weeks. Tarpon are still around but mainly concentrated around the passes on the outgoing tides. Beach activity for tarpon has definitely slowed down but snook have heated up! Some larger snook have been reported near structure in big pass and their bait of choice have been live crabs. That being said their have been a good amount of ladyfish near the pass, and that works as a fantastic bait for tarpon or snook as well. Inshore temps are record high, so flats fishing has been slower mid day. Focus on the mornings and evenings if possible. Night fishing is still going strong with reports of snook, several reds, some trout and lots of juvenile tarpon! As always, please stop in and see us if you have any questions or need any tips!
